EXPERIENCED REMOTE COURT REPORTER

A court reporter with experience in remote legal depositions using the Zoom platform will be trained and qualified for that particular setting. Swearing in deponents, identifying speakers, and marking exhibits will be performed through a technical variation when using the Zoom platform for meetings. Requesting documents, creating a seating chart, and marking exhibits electronically are three remote capabilities which a court reporter with experience will demonstrate during an online legal deposition anywhere in Florida.

SWEARING IN DEPONENTS

During a remote legal deposition in Florida, the deponent must be sworn in by an authorized Florida notary public.

Verifying identification is the primary action, so the remote court reporter must request that the deponent send a copy of a state ID or driver’s license; passport; or other government identification.

Through experience, the court reporter knows that this can be a challenge for some individuals and is prepared to walk the deponent through the technical process remotely.

IDENTIFYING SPEAKERS

An experienced remote court reporter will always employ the use of a seating chart. All participants are asked to identify themselves at the beginning of any online legal deposition in Florida.

During this time, qualified court reporter trained for the remote Zoom setting will arrange the chart according to screen placements- and by name.

Using a seating chart will guarantee that speakers are correctly identified by name while producing an accurate legal transcript during and after the remote deposition experience.

MARKING EXHIBITS

When a qualified Florida court reporter has been trained, and gains experience for marking exhibits during the deposition the process is seamless.

While correct identification is priority- so is time.

The remote court reporter will more quickly mark each exhibit and become accustomed to using electronic stickers during a remote legal deposition via Zoom with experience.
